Purposes

The Thai Association of Washington is a non-profit organization founded on April 10, 2009.  The purposes of the Thai Association of Washington are exclusively charitable and consist of the following:

  1. To be the central point of contact for both Thai-Americans and Americans alike in the State of Washington;
  2. To represent the Thai community in working with other public and private organizations for the interest and betterment of all those involved.  (I.e. elimination of discrimination/prejudice, protection of human rights, disaster relief and prevention, etc.);
  3. To develop and promote goodwill between Thai-Americans and various ethnic/cultural groups in Washington State;
  4. To foster harmony among Thai people in the State of Washington;
  5. To maintain the Association’s neutral stand or nonpartisanship without political affiliation;
  6. To support multi-faith religious organizations’ teachings that promote good moral and ethical values among all people on Earth;
  7. To help individuals and/or families out of poverty level (through employment referral, job coaching, etc.) to improve their quality of life;
  8. To assist Thai senior citizens or residents in maintaining their good health and well-being;
  9. To encourage Thai descendents and students to excel in school and graduate from higher education by developing a grants/scholarships program
  10. To maintain and promote the Thai language, arts and culture within the Washington region;
  11. To act as alternative source of information on various subject matters pertaining to SE Asia (issues or concerns about health, new rules or regulations, scholarships, etc.);  
  12. To support and promote Thai products and Thai businesses.

 
 
 
 
 
จุดประสงค์ของสมาคมชาวไทยแห่งรัฐวอชิงตัน
เรามีอุดมการณ์ความตั้งใจจริงและความปรารถนาดีต่อสังคมชาวไทยและเพื่อนต่างชาติ จุดประสงค์การดำเนินงานของสมาคมชาวไทยในรัฐวอชิงตัน มีดังต่อไปนี้:

  1. เป็นศูนย์กลางการติดต่อระหว่างคนไทย ชาวอเมริกันและชนชาติอื่นๆที่อยู่ในรัฐวอชิงตัน
  2. เป็นตัวแทนชุมชนไทยในการทำงานร่วมกับองค์กรภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนต่างๆเพื่อให้เกิดผลประโยชน์และสิ่งที่ดีขึ้นแก่ทุกฝ่าย  (เช่น การขจัดการรังเกียจแบ่งแยกผิวพันธุ์และอคติเหยียดหยามชนชั้น การปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชน การช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยและการป้องกันภัยพิบัติฯลฯ);
  3. เพื่อพัฒนาและส่งเสริมความปรารถนาดีระหว่างคนไทย ชาวอเมริกัน และชนชาติวัฒนธรรมอื่นๆในรัฐวอชิงตัน;
  4. เพื่อเสริมสร้างความสามัคคีในหมู่คนไทยในรัฐวอชิงตัน;
  5. เพื่อรักษานโยบายความเป็นกลางของสมาคม ไม่ฝักใฝ่เอนเอียงตามพรรคหรือความคิดเห็นทางการเมืองแบบใด;
  6. เพื่อสนับสนุนคำสั่งสอนที่ดีขององค์กรศาสนาต่างๆให้ประชากรโลกมีคุณธรรมและจริยธรรมสูงขึ้น;
  7. เพื่อช่วยพยุงให้คนไทยหรือครอบครัวไทยก้าวพ้นจากความยากจน ให้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น (โดยการแนะนำการหางาน ฝึกฝนเรียนรู้วิธีรักษางาน ฯลฯ);
  8. ช่วยเหลือผู้สูงอายุชาวไทยให้มีสุขภาพและความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี;
  9. ส่งเสริมให้กำลังใจลูกหลานคนไทยและนักเรียนไทยให้ขยันหมั่นเพียรในการเรียน ประสบความสำเร็จในโรงเรียน และสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษา โดยการแนะนําหรือจัดหาทุนการศึกษาให้;
  10. เพื่อรักษาและส่งเสริมภาษา ศิลปะ และวัฒนธรรมไทยในรัฐวอชิงตัน;
  11. ทำหน้าที่เป็นอีกทางเลือกของแหล่งข้อมูลต่างๆรวมทั้งเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (เช่น ปัญหาหรือข้อสงสัยเกี่ยวกับสุขภาพ กฎระเบียบใหม่ หรือทุนการศึกษา ฯลฯ);
  12. เพื่อสนับสนุนและส่งเสริมสินค้าไทยและธุรกิจของคนไทย.
